Why you can trust this product

Our products are manufactured the highest specification by Caledonia Signs, one of the UK's largest manufacturers, stockists and suppliers of safety signs.

Many cheaper options do not use the standard symbols and are made from inferior materials that are not flame retardent.

How to choose the right size

Many factors can Influence someone's ability to read a sign, which are covered in BS ISO 3864-1. The distance a person will be required to view the sign, the angle they are viewing , lighting, and even if they have impaired vision. Signs also have to be visible and not stuck behind furniture and doors.

Material (Size)

It is recommended that building owners or managers of every residential building containing separate dwellings (flats/HMOs) should carry out checks at regular intervals to ensure that all fire doors are fitted with effective self-closing devices in working order. Fire door inspection has to be a risk-based approach - Quarterly checks might be suitable for domestic fire doors, but not adequate for high-risk, high-usage doors. For instance, doors in corridors in busy areas may be more or less constantly in use, meaning that the risk of damage is high. There are also fire doors where their contribution to a building’s fire safety is very important, which means they should be inspected even more frequently. The Adapt-A-Sign allows you to insert a sheet of A4 paper into the sign to keep the records up to date without the need to replace the sign each year - it should be placed next to the door to clearly identify when inspections have been completed and helps to inform residents that their safety is being taken seriously.
