It is recommended that building owners or managers of every residential building containing separate dwellings (flats/HMOs) should carry out checks at regular intervals to ensure that all fire doors are fitted with effective self-closing devices in working order. Fire door inspection has to be a risk-based approach - Quarterly checks might be suitable for domestic fire doors, but not adequate for high-risk, high-usage doors. The Adapt-A-Sign allows you to insert a sheet of A4 paper into the sign to keep the records up to date without the need to replace the sign each year - it should be placed next to the door to clearly identify when inspections have been completed and helps to inform residents that their safety is being taken seriously.
